*Thanksgiving was a welcome rest for all who had a few days or the week off from school and work. Last week, on November 26, the members of SKSDA reflected on the past years hardships, struggles, joys, and blessings. We collectively thanked God for the people in our lives and the great joys of his unending love.

Turkey Bowl

*Turkey Bowl was a great success on November the 22nd in Elk Grove. The Cardinals matched up well against the dominant powerhouse Steelers, and after a tough battle in the trenches, the Cardinals edged the Steelers to take home the coveted Turkey Cup. The critical play that broke the game open was in the final Cardinals drive where Grace Jung scored a two-point conversion against a 3-man Steelers rush defense. Grace had dropped all of her passes up until the last play of the game. ESPN’s Mike Green caught up with Grace Jung after the play and she had this to say, “It’s just about gamesmanship. I wanted to make a big play for all the one’s I dropped earlier.” When asked about her teammate later, Cardinals quarterback, Carlos Nuno commented, “Actually, I was looking for Julie Chung in the corner, but Grace stole that pass from her to inflate her stats. But at the end of the day, it is what it is, and we played our hearts out, and gave 110% and we did what we had to do to get the W, and you gotta play well, and I think we played well…” The Steelers, known for their past dominance had this to say: Sam Lee, “I think overall, our effort was good. If it weren’t for the cheating tendencies of Josh Park, we would have been in the game earlier. But what can we say, Josh is leaving for New Mexico, and so we wanted to send him off with a moral and physical victory.”
